It's Not Your Fault
The modern world is inconsistent with the natural history of our species. There is nothing wrong with you. You are not broken. You are not weak. You don't lack desire, willpower or self-discipline. This is not a problem of your own making. It's not about stress, bad past experiences, childhood traumas, or other crosses you bear.
Understand, your entire biology, physiology and psychology is built upon one goal.
You are doing exactly what your genetic makeup is instructing you to do- to maximize the statistical likelihood you pass your genes to the next generation.

Our brains are exquisitely evolved over millions of years to manage that omnipresent fear of not getting enough.
So, it's not surprising that eating would be highly reinforced by pleasure and impulse signals, and exquisitely controlled in the genetic code.
Getting enough food is always animals biggest concern. They spend the majority of their waking hours thinking, scheming, and killing in the pursuit of food.
We are living today because of these powerful innate motivational neurological instincts that gave our ancestors survival advantages, now passed on to us.
Our ancestors were the best of the best at it-as they survived.
But... in the present day this instinctual drive now undermines our long-term health with over-abundant excess and processed pseudo-food never before seen.
Simply, the diet that we eat and environment we live in is inconsistent with the evolutionary history of our species. This creates chronic disease.

Powerful short-term, pleasure-seeking, self-indulgent, instinctual survival behavior conflicts with what is beneficial for us long term.

Instinctual within the genetic code of all animals is this message:
Eat whenever the opportunity arises, eat more whenever you can, seek the richest foods, and expend the least amount of energy doing so.
i.e. Get the most resources for the least effort. This enhanced survival. The humans and other animals best at this survived and went on to reproduce, passing these genes onto their progeny, YOU!

But in the environment is which we now live, replete with society's endless super-normal stimuli, chemically-altered, hyper-stimulating, highly addictive, rich offerings, this no longer enhances-but diminishes-our chances of health and survival.
